Front row regulars Margherita Missoni & Eugenie Niarchos were both spotted at the Paco Rabanne show in Paris rocking the designer’s “le iconic 69″ bag.  Both wore the eye catching shoulder bag with simple, tailored pieces that had a relaxed feel to them.  A great idea to take the fuss out of dressing up, using an iconic bag to make a statement meant that the girls looked effortlessly chic and comfortable whilst facing all those flash bulbs!

We love this shot of Uma Thurman for Vogue Italia by Peter Lindbergh.  Shot in black and white, the actress looks stunning and sultry in a fabulous pair of Burak Uyan’s eye catching creations.

The up and coming designer has become a red carpet favourite thanks to his unique use of colour and architecturally inspired shapes that look great with a simple, understated dress or mixed up with an elegant evening gown.

We love this chic navy number from Alice + Olivia worn by Jenna-Dewan Tatum out in West Hollywood.  With it’s off duty feel and super flattering gathered tiers, this is a great go to piece that can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

Kate Bosworth has been looking great recently! We loved the tribal print at the recent Burberry Body event in L.A. and now we’ve spotted her stepping out in a wonderful example of off duty chic! Mulberry is often the go to label for girls about town who want a quick fix of understated luxury and this Tillie duffle coat is perfect, teamed with a loose dress and ankle boots, for an afternoon stroll through the autumn leaves.

STRATEGIA

Designers brought classic accessories and evening silhouettes up to date for winter with a touch of old world elegance. Studio Galleria Romanelli provided the setting for “Still Life”, as one of florence’s most historic sculpture studios, since the “Grand tour” royal families, politicians and a myriad of artists, writers and influential thinkers have paid a visit. The historic Studio and Gallery is still open and the Romanelli family continue to sculpt and paint there today, a perfect place to capture this season’s bold take on full, flowing gowns, precious jewellery , fur accents and opulent colours. Detailed fabrics and sweeping shapes create a chiaroscuro effect with a dramatic touch perfect for these darker days and longer, lavish evenings.

Michelle Obama is a well documented style icon.  Mixing a range of big brands with smaller, emerging designers the demure first lady always looks perfectly on point and so it is no surprise that she is often spotted in Kara Ross‘s unqiue pieces.  The jeweller’s elegant but instantly recognisable style combines chunky shapes with beautiful jewels, making her collections stand out for their elegant and chic shapes and beautiful stones.

One of the items on our absolutely must have list for Fall/Winter is a tuxedo jacket.  We spotted Sabrina, our blogger friend from Afterdrk, wearing hers with some jeans and a simple white t-shirt to match the low key vibe in Stockholm.  She added a Celine tote and high heels for a chic edge , even if it’s simple, she still looks elegant.  We’re going to follow suit (bad punn intended) and wear our Balmain tux jacket with a pair of scruffed up DSquared jeans and Fendi platforms….then we’re ready for a day at the shows and a fabulous dinner after…no wardrobe change required!

Lara Stone looks striking in the new Calvin Klein Fall/Winter 2011 campaign shot by fashion favourites Mert & Marcus.  We love this simple and utterly elegant take on the season’s metallic trend, illustrating that this winter they can be worn day or night with a new, more effortlessly sophisticated feel.

Ever elegant and down-to-earth, Kate Middleton has been working her versatile travel wardrobe to the full whilst on the Royal Tour in Canada. Having been spotted wearing her favorite J Brand jeans out and about on numerous visits this week, she reworked them with a smart blazer, feminine ruffled blouse and wedges for a casual yet chic and polished look.

Color Theory

Posted by admin in She's Got the Look | Style Essentials - (Comments Off)

With the arrival of warmer weather, we’re starting to get more into this season’s bold colors to give our wardrobe an instant update and to get us in the mood for the summer. Experimenting with color is one way to instantly brighten up your look and turn heads. Obviously feeling the same way, Florence University of the Arts “D.I.V.A” program styled a photoshoot and created a video with some of our fave pieces, showing us how to rock the trend to the max. The “Color Theory” project that they created, is a concentration of color and geometrics that identify the modern woman with the use of clean silhouettes, vibrant colors and the strong character of rich prints and linear forms.
