To mark the unveliling of the exhibition of the world’s vastest private collection of natural crystals, at Florence’s Museum of Natural History, La Specola, LUISAVIAROMA will display a Bolivian blue and purple amethyst accompanied by an array of pink embalmed flamingos from the museum itself.
This collaboration between La Specola and LUISAVIAROMA highlights Luisa’s lead role in Florence’s social and cultural setting. Luisa’s store windows have, for years been exhibitors of exclusive pieces and treasures of the fashion and art worlds. Florence’s cultural heritage and Luisa’s refined exclusivity and vanguard are perfectly united under one roof.

New York – Wouldn’t it be cool if instead of clerks in stores asking “May I help you?” shoppers had the chance to be served by computer kiosks with clever software? Intel has created 3 prototypes of kiosks that with its large touch screens and smart application will able to recognize customers, point out bargains and let them try virtual clothing, hair colors and cosmetics onscreen. This will be a different sort of self-service experience that will let customers create the look they want.

Hyères, France. April 25-28, 2009. 24th Annual International Festival of Fashion and Photography.
A platform for fresh fashion talents in the world of fashion and photography, where a selected jury of international professionals, designers, industrialists, buyers and trendwatchers elect two winning candidates.
Last year Riccardo Tisci and Haider Ackermann were present at the three day festival in Hyères. This year, Luisa will be there to support young designers and judge the newest trends.
In the past 20 years, the Festival has revealed names such as Viktor & Rolf, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, and Gaspard Yurkievich, to name a few, that are now essential parts of the fashion world. Only 8 years ago did the Festival begin to back photographers by allowing them to exhibit their work and confront with fellow artists and critics.
The Festival will take place April 25th to 28th and the exhibition will be open until June 2009.
