Just out off the catwalk, wIth a forties twist in their hair and holding Fendi‘s staple yellow bags, the models happily posed, showing off their personal style, for the buying team and the swarm of paparizzis who were waiting outside the show to get a good shot.
We especially liked Abbey Lee’s folk look and Freja’s Rick Owens jacket.
A quick line about the show: long skirts, fur and rubber toe booties for sophisticated country girls.

Having returned from crazy and colourful London Fashion Week, Silvano, Ania, Luisa and Massimo, the photographer rapidly embarked on a new, more chic fashion adventure: Milan Fashion Week!
Grabbing a little time with the buying team before they ran off to Milan I got to find out that…
Long skirts were everywhere in Somerset House and the new, straighter shaped full skirt looks set to be one of the must have items for next season…we’re so glad we’ve got ours thanks to Mr Wang and Mr Owens!

A favourite colour from the shows was bordeaux and, in fact, those hints of red have been popping up in the street style pics all over. The hot, new look was described as dirty, pretty things, like good girls gone bad…..feminine florals with a tough girl cut and attitude….we can’t wait!

Apparently Mark Fast had the best gift (a pair of signature web knit pants!) that Ania, our assistant buyer, kindly modelled for us! Although this is rivaled by the Vivienne Westwood flask that she gave out to get people to stop using plastic drinking bottles….we love the metallic finish….funky and makes us feel good!
There were also moving epithats to McQueen, from the big board that was in Somerset House where everyone posted hundreds of messages, to the introduction of the Central Saint Martins show in which the audience heard an interview with the late McQueen on his time and experiences at the famous school. An emotional and moving tribute to one of fashions great visionaries.

The hareem pants and slouchy boots with all their folds make this this off duty outfit look super comfortable as well as stylish! We’re big fans of Rick Owens and love his leather jackets that are made with tough, quality leather and so uniquely cut. Worn with playful accessories this look epitomises our idea of laid back, casual comfort with a personal twist.
Although the Selfridges car park turned out not to be the most well lit of venues, the dramatic mix of textures used by Pilotto stood out against the dark backdrop. We loved the mix of masculine and classic english fabrics, such as herringbone tweed, that contrasted with the prints and their delicate, sand style finish. Taking inspiration from 1970s interiors, the colour palette Pilotto and design partner, Christopher De Vos, used mixed neutrals, metallics and leather…even adding a little fur into the mix! Silvano Vangi, our buyer, particularly loved the incredible boots that Nicholas Kirkwood made especially for the show.

Finally, we managed to get hold of Silvano, our head womenswear buyer, for the low down on the Antonio Berardi show! He told us that the overall feel was very feminine with a show that was full of dresses. He did however, mention the falling models that were struggling to walk in the sky scraper heels that they teetered down the runway in! We also got some great snaps of them backstage as they were taking off their make up and running between shows. Silvano said that he loved the mixture of black, white and grey with the bright red touches that we think is really womanly as well as a hot micro trend for the coming season.

This casual look is simply put together to maximum effect and flaunting that masculine tailoring at its best. We love the two tone blazer and cropped pants with the contrasting TShirt and delicate jewellery. Brogues have also been a fashion staple in London for some time now and are a cool, practical choice for running between shows.
