OK so we’ve spotted them knocking around for a while and have been lusting after one ourselves for some time. But, unable to make up our minds between the buttery soft leather kind, maybe a knitted boho number or possibly sticking to the classic black leather back to school model its been tough and now, the backpack has been reinvented and is officially back on the fashion radar. When we found a pic of Rick Owens sporting his own we just knew we had to have – maybe not even just one – but we had to take the plunge and get some practical goodness into our wardrobes and slung over our shoulders!

With some great new projects to look forward to this Autumn, all of a sudden the end of summer doesn’t seem so sad. Proenza Schouler have enlisted the help of cult indie film director Harmony Korine to create a series of gritty 8mm vignettes, shot in Tennessee the short film will combine the duos cult collegiate look with Korine’s famous sense of angsty high school rebellion. The director described Proenzer’s first foray into the world of film as “It’s about girls who sleep in abandoned cars and set things on fire. It’s about the great things in life. The stars in the sky and lots of malt liquor.”
Debuting on proenzaschouler.com in September, we dont have long to wait now. Start preparing that popcorn!

We’ve always loved SJP’s fondness for the hottest up and coming designers as its not just on screen that she shows a unique style and love for sky high shoes. The Nicholas Kirkwoods are a perfect finishing touch to this laid back look as they give it a high fashion kudos that makes her stand out amongst fashion concious A listers.

Summer might almost be over but we couldn’t resist a little post about some of our fave celebs in bikinis from beaches all over the world. It’s making us determined to squeeze in just a little more beach time before those leaves autumn leaves start falling and with the help from the summer sale we’re going to make sure our last moments on the beach this year are stylish ones!

With menswear becoming increasingly important, influential and directional within the fashion industry. Leonardo Iuffrida and Alessandro Mancarella the creators behind the blog Nob, are right on time. Blending backgrounds in journalism and marketing, and a combined interest in fashion, the pair know exactly what they are doing.
The focus is menswear and in particular the “aristocratic young man, fashionable man, refined man, well-dressed man, dandy, person of wealth or importance”.
We at Luisa Via Roma take our menswear seriously, and understand that the male customer can be just as fashion forward as any fancy female fashionista. So for the Firenze 4 Ever event some of the most delectable, daring and delightful menswear was on hand from the Fall Winter 2010 collections.
Mixing Viktor & Rolf, with Dsquared, Neil Barrett and Dior Homme, Leonardo and Alessandro proved that today’s modern man is often the best dressed.

“I wanted a very simple yet elegant look and that’s why I chose the Lanvin double silk satin dress. To give the look some colour, I picked the aqua blue/green necklace and earings. And to add a last killer touch, I had to throw in these gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti Swarovski sandals
