Leighton Meester looked great in some velvet Versus in Madrid. We love the flash of colour from the sandals and the simple hair and make up that give the whole look a girly, understated edge.
On December 3 we’ll be celebrating the launch of Polyvore in Europe with a cocktail party, hosted by Chiara Ferragni of theblondesalad.com, and a new contest with a host of great prizes to be won!
Polyvore fans love the unique social networking site as it lets you become a virtual stylist and create your favourite outfits online. We wanted to do the same and so as part of the competition that we will be launching with the site, we will even have our own “Mini Editor” on our blog that can be used to create your own total looks! We’ve picked some of favourite pieces for you to play with and create your favourite looks for the season. All you have to do is pick your favourite category from our video style guides and make an outfit in theme.
We also have some amazing prizes for the winners, including a 500 EURO LuisaViaRoma gift card (so you can have a shopping spree at luisaviaroma.com) and the chance to come to the second edition of FIRENZE4EVER and meet some of fashion’s most famous bloggers. There’s also the chance to see your total look in motion as we will make up your look into a real video and put it on our site as one of our style guide videos!
Obviously with this great contest, we couldn’t help but involve some of our blogger friends and so you’ll also be able to create your looks online on mini editors that will be on their blogs….So get ready all you budding personal stylists and stay tuned for all the details!!
Thank you to everyone that attended our wonderful Crystal Lovers by Felice Limonsani launch party last night. The store was full beautiful Swarovski crystals as well as some of our friends and favourite designers such as Marmen, Toxic Toy and Delfina Delettrez who all came out for the occasion. Our wonderful Mary Katrantzou clad DJs got everyone in the mood to party and the delicious cocktails kept flowing as we celebrated the official launch of the amazing installations and specially commisioned, crystal covered designer pieces that are now available online!
We just saw some great pictures of the actress Valeria Solarino looking lovely in Alexander Wang, Rick Owens and Borsalino in OK magazine as well one of her red carpet ready, rocking a classic Herve Leger bandage dress in Venice….we are liking her style!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Emilio Cavallini book signing at our store on Tuesday as part of the Florens 2010 events. We had a fab time with the man himself and got our very own copies of his incredible new book showcasing his work and ground breaking exhibitions. To follow there were cocktails and music on the terrace and maybe even a little oggling of Florence’s favourite David in his stockings!
The Fashion Fruit is an example of blogging at its best. Creator Veronica Ferraro has pieced together a perfectly polished platform to showcase an equally polished approach to personal style. With breathtaking photographs, and seriously brilliant fashion, at 22 Veronica is making a lasting name for herself, and it all began only in January of this year. Taking an interest in literature, journalism and writing Veronica’s future is incredibly bright, and we all know this is just the beginning!

Exciting things will be going on all over our home town of Florence for the “Florens 2010″ festival next week. We are pleased to announce in honour of this we will be hosting the legendary Emilio Cavallini who will be in our store signing copies of his amazing new book from 17.00PM on Tuesday November 16th. With cocktails served from 18pm, we’ve even dressed up Michelangelo’s famous David in the creative legends famous stockings for the occasion!
Please come down and join us and get a glimpse into the world of this historic designer who has not only done amazing things for the world of ladies hoisery but has also pushed artistic boundaries with his incredible installations.
Our womenswear buyer Silvano headed to Zurich last weekend to nominate who he thought should be the lucky winner of the internationally renowned Swiss Textiles Award. With 100,000 Euro in prize money up for grabs, the competition was strong as we’ve been looking through the amazing pictures that he brought back from the show!
The award focuses on international talents that have already had a couple of years experience but are still “up and coming” therefore the prize money can really help some of the industries hottest young talents get the funding they so desperately need in order to grow and expand their business. Previous winners have included Raf Simons, Marios Schwab and last year it was the turn of New York It boy Alexander Wang…stay tuned to see who we liked and loved from the show!
