We love this behind the scenes video from the set of the latest Roberto Cavalli womenswear campaign photo shoot.  Showcasing the collections dark, gothic tinged vibe in a beautiful, natural setting, watch the stunning Natasha Poly, Karen Elson and Mariacarla Boscono rock flowing transparent layers of signature Cavalli print that have been given a new lease of life for F/W 2011/12 by cult stylist Panos Yiapanis.  This Autumn we want to play in the leaves in one of those head turning pieces!

The menswear fashion weeks in Paris and Milan have two different, distinct vibes and despite much debate we just cannot decide which we love more! Both cities play host to important, historic fashion brands who show us outstanding collections each season.  So,  we figured the best thing to do would be to put it to the test by going backstage.  Watch our videos from behind the scenes and let us know, which city gets your vote?

Watch the “Less and More” Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2012 and come backstage with us as we talk to the hair team and models.

There was a beautifully calm atmosphere backstage before the Kris Van Assche show as the designer chatted with the stylists and hairdressers and watched the model run through, he even said, that as a consistent worker, at this late stage there were no last minute alterations or changes that he wanted to make. This precise sense of vision is echoed in the designer’s clear aesthetic and this season was no exception.  Still inspired by the LA boys that are making their transition from cool kid to manhood, this time Kris Van Assche presented them with a range of suits that they could wear whilst retaining their infectious, relaxed style.  With more of a 60s mod edge, the silhouette retained the cropped, long rise pants and chunky shoes but was sharpened up a little with slim shirts and flashes of colour that gave the collection a lively edge and broke up the black and grey hues.

This season the DSquared twins took us on a tour of their favourite cities, starting with Scandanavia for a morning with the fishermen, all in signature DSquared layers of coloured outer wear and jeans.  Then we were whisked off to Mykonos for an afternoon on the beach, huge, ripped boys in teeny, bright coloured swim wear included! For sunset we were in Florence where the boys got to show off their famous take on preppy italian chic.  To close we were taken to the back of a stage door in London with full leather and studded glitterati and dancers vogueing in 12 inch stilettos.  The show wasn’t only a 12minute trip around the boys’ favourite cities but also through their favourite pieces, it was almost an ode to all the looks that have made them such an institution.  Although they didn’t really show us anything new this season, their fans will love this                                                                                                           collection packed with the designers’ best and brightest                                                                                                                 signature pieces.

Backstage with the gorgeous boys at the Roberto Cavalli Menswear show in Milan we asked them what they love about this utterly italian label’s style and took a peek behind the scenes as everyone got ready for the Spring/Summer 2012 show.

The legendary fashion duo, Dolce & Gabbana, are an italian institution. Outside their A/W 2011 womenswear show,at the Metropol in Milan, we caught up with some fashion insiders to see exactly what it is that makes the designers so popular. Our blogger friend the BagHag also let us in on what she loved about the latest collection which is now available for exclusive preorder right here!

At Dusan’s first even runway show in Paris, long rise leather pants were layered with sporty knitwear and nipped at the waist to create a relaxed but refined silhouette. See our video from the front row and backstage.

Ann Demeulemeester’s beautifully layered pieces created a strong sense of poetry that may, in part, be because her womenswear collection contained many similar features to her menswear one earlier this season, that was inspired by the poet William Blake. However, for her womenswear show Demeulemeester chose to go even further, with a mythological edge that saw the models in big goats fur coats echoing fauns. The models long legged strides and big doe eyes added further to this image as did the beautiful horse hair extensions that gave them an even more mythical, animal like quality.
