“Riviera Chic” was the look and feel of the Roberto Cavalli menswear S/S 2012 show, set in the gardens of Palazzo Serbelloni, the sun came out making for a beautiful early evening setting that complemented the collection perfectly.  Never for the faint hearted, the signature exotic skins were inserted into trousers and sharply cut jackets, however, there was also a sense of change as white and pin stripes also worked their way in creating an interesting effect and adding a new dimension to the line that is perfect for the european jet set.

Jason Wu, Michelle Obama’s favorite, got inspired by the architectural splendour and “decadent glamour” of the Palace of Versailles for his new winter collection. Chic and sophisticated, he showed baroque embellishment, gilded embroideries, long gowns and more than 15 different types of lace. The white, black and nude palette was highlighted by shots of bold colors such as cerise pink, chartreuse, ultra violet and antique gold. The collection mixed baroque and sportswear with “garçon” elements: sharp tailored pants, ascot shirts, charcoal flannel coats. We thought there was a little Valentino in the bows and a little Chanel in the feather dress, a little McQueen in the gold print on jackets, a little Miu Miu in the collars. Original? Maybe not. But there’s no denial that the Wu show was beautiful.

Christopher Bailey’s amazing vision for Burberry Prorsum comes through so clearly in his menswear line. Yet whilst moving the brand forward, he always pays homage to the historic label’s roots and the traditional elements that originally made it’s name. The idea of heritage was clear this season in the choice of materials and hints of classic Burberry prints that were sent down the runway. The absolute key item in this collection was a fabulous jacket or coat. From trenches to military and pea coats as well as those with fur edging, outer wear was big for Bailey this season as he effectively created a collection that could adapt to all weather conditions. There was also a definite sixties feel present in the fur caps, skinny suits and rock sound track. The whole look was given a modern – very english – update with chunky knits and stylish shoes that grabbed lots of attention and also served a practical purpose; helping the models not to fall whilst walking through their drizzly finale!

With each passing season, Lanvin continues to define itself as a brand, a house, and a legend in a league of its own; here in Paris now, the iconic label which began womenswear in 1909, has never felt more relevant.
Sure, a few good collections and you may just be lucky or extremely well-timed, we know that. But with hit after hit and an ever-increasing profile on the radiating fashion radar, there is quite clearly a genius at play within the Lanvin maison. That mastermind who conducts the wizardry of undeniably a phenomenal team effort is Alber Elbaz. Fashions most endearing and delightful designer, who has managed to conjure up one enviable and consistently desirable (to buyers and clients alike) signature touch.
For the Spring Summer 2011 collection, the signature was kept alive and coated in a perfect interpretation of the current mood in fashion. The line and shapes were minimal without being devoid of the human hand and still entirely agile. Luxe embellishment was aligned and neat, meaning excessiveness was never a consideration, and the colours were every bit manageable, from earthen neutrals to, simmering jewel tones. All of this is the kind of evidence which suggest a global brand with wide-thinking appeal.
Women the world over just cannot get enough.

With Stockholm Fashion Week bubbling with big international fashion lovers, we have met many of our friends who gladly posed for us at Luisa Via Roma. Our good blogger friend from a long time back was one of the invited guest and as usual Bryan Boy is never hard to spot in a crowd. Rocking those signature shades, always in stylish outfit and with numerous of 4 inches and up-heels, we can’t help but wonder how much clothes he brings on his travels around the world.

Four suitcases for Stockholm!

Here are some of Sweden’s fashion elite, fashion journalist Karolina Skande who once was named the most influential Swedish fashion blogger and Lisa Corneliusson.
The weather in Stockholm has cooled down since yesterday but the fashionable atmosphere is still almost touchable. Some fashionistas are running back and forth between the venues in their comfortable wedges while others choose to play it safe (and wise!) marching on a slower speed. During the bigger gaps the fashion elite gather at Berns Salonger, one of the sponsors and also where many of the shows are held, with their laptops to update the outer world on the latest shows, news and outfits spotted. Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, you name it. You haven’t missed out on our Twitter and Facebook page, have you?

There are many VIPs in Stockholm this week, among them we spotted our blogger friends Elin Kling that we met during our event dedicated to fashion bloggers, Firenze 4Ever,and Hanneli Mustaparta.
Elin is a fashionista and former model with the biggest fashion blog in Sweden, Hanneli is a Norwegian top model based in New York with a great blog too.
For sure this is not the last time we meet these two wonderful girls! And we are actually planning to meet many more fashion blogger friends during this fashion week!

Stockholm Fashion Week has started, and that means only one thing: a city full of fashionable people from all over the world.
If you are not there, don’t worry, we will keep you updated throughout the week.
The first day was amazing! You don’t even need to have all those fancy invitations, it’s enough to be in the streets.
It’s like a runway show with all those well dressed people running from one thing to another. Keep it simple, it’s all about the details… A gorgeous designer bag, prints or those killer heels.

Congratulations to Lara Stone not only on her recent wedding to English comedian David Walliams but also for this great outfit that is spring time shower proof! We’re crazy about the Christopher Kane TShirts, they look great teamed with a bit of masculine tailoring, low key accessories and tough boots; a strong look perfect for everyday.
