The animated Henry Holland is as renowned for his fabulous, playful style as his fashionista friends who so often wear his line, House of Holland. We love this Fall’s nipped in jackets and nod to demure 40s style that was in the lively designer’s latest collection and we can’t wait to work one of his bright pieces in to our winter wardrobe!
Franck Boclet trained as a tailor in the fashion house of Ungaro before launching his own line which plays with sharp details, silhouettes and volumes. We’re proud to now have the collection in store and online. Check out what Mr Boclet himself has to say about the collection and what inspired his unique, modern dandy style cuts and tailoring.
So far this summer has been packed with some amazing weddings. One of them was that of Kate Moss and Jamie Hince in the beautiful English Cotswolds. Now, on vogue.com there is a video of the “big day” with special behind the scenes pictures and interviwes with some of the new Mrs Hince’s closest friends. If you want to know what the table decorations looked like, see a bit of Naomi in her couture Givenchy then this video is a must see. It also captures the beautiful bride and groom looking utterly serene and happy, with some beautifully shot behind the scenes footage it is definitely worth a watch.
Michelle Obama is a well documented style icon. Mixing a range of big brands with smaller, emerging designers the demure first lady always looks perfectly on point and so it is no surprise that she is often spotted in Kara Ross‘s unqiue pieces. The jeweller’s elegant but instantly recognisable style combines chunky shapes with beautiful jewels, making her collections stand out for their elegant and chic shapes and beautiful stones.
The seductively stylish Charlotte Olympia‘s latest collection is perfectly showcased in this short film that we just love.
We’re hearing reports from our trusted source at the shows in Sweden, who is relaying all the gossip and latest trend info, that they’ve noticed a couple of strong staple looks emerging amongst the nordic fashionistas! Lovely draped, silken shirts worn over leather shorts seemed to be the look of the day for day 2 of Stockholm Fashion Week and we have to say that we are big fans. We are partial to a bit of billowing, draped silk or satin and love this Fall/Winter’s pussy bow blouses and a demure nod to all things lady like. However, we do always like to toughen up the soft layers so leather shorts seem like a perfect solution and are great for the varying climate and moving into Autumn in a chic but practical way. Volumous overlayers were also spotted worn over body con dresses to off set the effect and make it a little more relaxed.
One of the items on our absolutely must have list for Fall/Winter is a tuxedo jacket. We spotted Sabrina, our blogger friend from Afterdrk, wearing hers with some jeans and a simple white t-shirt to match the low key vibe in Stockholm. She added a Celine tote and high heels for a chic edge , even if it’s simple, she still looks elegant. We’re going to follow suit (bad punn intended) and wear our Balmain tux jacket with a pair of scruffed up DSquared jeans and Fendi platforms….then we’re ready for a day at the shows and a fabulous dinner after…no wardrobe change required!
It’s not even September yet and the international Fashion Weeks are alredy getting started. This week we’re in Stockholm checking out the latest street wear trends and seeing what’s going on up north, for their fashion week that is becoming a rapidly growing event on the fashion calendar.
We love the Swedish laid back look that has an off-duty chic feel, with a mix of casual layers of leather and denim accents, oversize tees also still seem to be a must if you want to capture that “model running between shows look” it seems ladies! We ran into our blogger friends Sabrina, from afterdrk, and Yvan, from Facehunter, who were at the shows taking notes on the latest trends, stay tuned as today should be another day full of shows that we’ll be reporting from.
We’ve been running into Tom Rebl quite a bit this year! Way back in January, we went to the designer’s showroom in Milan whilst he was shooting the campaign for his collection, it was full of family, friends and fashionistas all toasting Tom and the new menswear line. Then, in June he popped in during Firenze4Ever 3rd Edition so we had a chat about his latest collection that was being used in our style labs by the bloggers and what direction he was planning to take the label in. Now, it’s finally arrived in store and online so we wanted to show you a bit more about this fun, up and coming designer. To learn more about Tom and his inspirations check out our interview with the designer as he spoke to us about what influenced him for the Fall/Winter 2011 season.
Now we love a sky high stiletto, a chunky vintage heel and a pair of summer time sandals as much as the next girl so we’re looking forward to the release of the “God Save My Shoes” documentary/film that takes a look at just what makes us so happy to invest so much into these objects of desire. We hope it takes a light hearted slant and doesn’t wander over into the dark corners of our Louboutin addiction but we’ll have to wait and see!
