Jimmy Choo’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection includes not only the brand’s signature staples in basic black but also mixes heels in jewel toned hues, neutral colored suede platform pumps with crystal encrusted heels and boots in fur, feathers and different exotic skins like python and crocodile.
The label have also introduced a new bag shape which has a rectangular plate, reminiscent of a vintage lighter, for its main clasp closure. Another interesting bag is studded with metal stars and signs of the zodiac; very rock chic! The Rosalie, one the key bags in the collection, remains one of the most popular pieces and this winter it will come in eel skin as well as luxe python.
One of the three “themed collections” for fall also features pieces inspired by model Veruschka, sending out a very bohemian vibe. Included are a whip stitched leather bag with fur and a woven fringed, open toe bootie. The overall feel of the collection is very luxurious and rich.

Informal elegance was the order of the day, and night, at Jo No Fui’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection. It was a return to the time of the high waisted, wool crepe trousers, long, lean skirts with deep splits, cashmere pullovers with luxe details like fur muffs and collars, and ponyskin waistcoats with nappa trim. Jo No Fui’s fall collection incorporated neutral colors like camel and olive, with the occasional burst of orange and red, as well as the basic black. Also featured were ribbed, figure hugging knit dresses which ranged from golds to bronzes, pinks to burgundies. We especially liked the mini tops, pullovers, and dresses bedecked with fragments of crystal. Jo No Fui’s collections continue to remain strong in the accessories division; a product of a continued collaboration with Gianvito Rossi. Pink gold bracelets were encased in transparent plexiglass, we also saw sleek belts highlighted with a pink gold plaque with prominent galvanized silver bolts.

When the buyers were in Paris for Fashion week, our blogger friend Ingrid Chua, of the Bag Hag diaries, was hot on their heels at the best shows in town. Here we reveal her highlights from the S/S 2011 catwalk shows….enjoy!
At Chloe, it was all about clean lines, femininity, and minimalism. The immaculate all white leather doctor’s bag, with a single front zipped pocket makes a perfect arm accessory. To me the bag seemed like a blank canvas; you could pair it with neutrals as well as splashes of color. A very chic, classic piece that seems trend- resistant!
Meanwhile, front row at Chloe, Alexa Chung was wearing one of the season’s must-haves: the Valentino studded flats. I have to say that the right flats are not only comfortable but they can also be very chic, a great reprieve from seasons upon seasons of sky high heels and just perfect if you want to give your precious feet a little rest!
Monochrome colours with leather continue to be the order of the day at Ann Demeulemeester. Spring/Summer 2011 saw flowing black and white printed and belted asymmetrical tunics paired with ankle-length leather pants that were both contemporary and feminine. Juxtaposed with an all white cut-out leather jacket or breastplate-esque number, the long, fluid asymmetrical leather skirts (that left one leg exposed) looked strong and edgy. The beauty of this collection was the precision of the cuts – in all the right places – and the overall cohesion of each look.
